Young Adults Tofino Roadtrip 2026! This is going to be a trip to remember.
Format
This is part road trip, part retreat, part choose-your-own-adventure! Each day we will have some group activities (such as a shared meal, a worship time, or morning devotions) and some free time for you to enjoy Vancouver Island at your own pace. Rather than an “all in” cost for the trip, we will each pay our own way (with room for financial help if needed - send us a message if this is the case). In order to reserve a space in a campsite, you’ll need to sign up using the form below and pay $50 to the church office by card, cash or e-transfer.
Accommodations
We are staying at Surf Grove campsite right on the coast of Tofino at Cox Bay. This is a simple campsite with amenities like heated restrooms, running water, dishwashing stations, warm showers, and a small snack shop. Our sites are only a few hundred metres from the beach, meaning walks, hikes and surf are only a minute’s walk away. A few minute’s drive will get you into downtown Tofino. You’ll need to bring (or borrow) your own camping gear. Each campsite has room for 4 people, and we’ll assign campsites to people of the same gender (and you can request a friend upon sign up).
Food
Food will be a mix of group meals and meals we take care of on our own. When our full schedule is sent out, these meals will be marked clearly (and recommendations for local grocery stores, restaurants and cafés provided!) Plan on one breakfast and one dinner being provided.
Activities
There is so much to do in Tofino! Honestly, even if we didn’t plan anything, just hanging out on the beaches and trails and having conversations would be more than enough to make the weekend go by quickly. That said, we’ll have the opportunity to surf (rentals available on site if needed), hike, visit the shops in town, sightsee and some big group activities like a campfire & worship. A list of activity options and recommendations will be shared in advance of the trip to give you some ideas.
Transportation
To get to Tofino you’ll need to book a ferry. The 10:15am out of Tsawassen gets you to Tofino comfortably by 4pm (our campsite check in time) - but that said, if you want to head out earlier and have more time on the island, you can make that choice! We’d recommend carpooling to cut down on ferry & gas costs and get some quality time enjoying the road trip vibes together in the car! We’ll make a group chat on WhatsApp for those of us signed up to help facilitate carpooling.
